Thank you for sharing. Derek Manky is my idol and he inspired me and motivated me in this field of Cybersecurity. I just don’t know where to start but I guess I would be more clear about my goals as I dive deeper in this field. I would still try every means to pursue my dreams even if I would not be hired by Fortinet by now. I’m a slow learner and dumb guy but who knows I might get lucky in the future

Similar to the real estate market collapse - when government entities are reliant on public traded corporations to sustain government operations it comes at a cost. Like the market collapse, the government is placed dilemma to bail out the corporations they are reliant on. The investments made by the government in those corporations are far too great. Meanwhile the corporation has a fiduciary (legal) responsibility to shareholders that seem to outweigh the due-care and due-diligence owed to their government partners, and the American taxpayer (the customer). The taxpayers empower the government and enable them through tax revenue. Government leadership representing the people refrain from stringent and meaningful legislative mandates and executive oversight. After all, imposition of such controls undermines our leaders judgement, threatens a hold on power and threatens the efficiency of government operations critical to the continuity of government and national security. The U.S. has been competing against a pacing threat with governments who maintain power over enterprise. Corporate conglomerates who have a responsibility to generate revenue at the expense of national security will ultimately succumb to their own demise because those U.S. born and backed corporations have disarmed the very institutions that made them and that are responsible for protecting them.

I am really interested to see this change start to trickle down to us job seekers. At the moment it's confusing and disheartening to look for a job. For us entry level individuals it's tough finding where you belong....
